Enterprise Support Department Overview

The Enterprise Support Department is tasked with providing technical support and business advisory/ development services to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for growth, competitiveness, and development.

Being a sector that provides constant innovation and supply of new business ideas and skills to the mainstream economy, this critical support service is offered by the team at various levels of the business lifecycle of enterprises, from idea generation, strategy formulation, business planning to implementation, fund raising, training and development, setting up of systems, provide coaching & mentoring, encourage entrepreneurship and innovation, and all other business advisory and support services required by growing MSMEs.

Such services compliment the enabling environment and policy framework created by the government of The Gambia for the realization of sustainable enterprises in the informal sector which provides the bulk of employment and a major contributor to the country’s GDP.

The business development services network (BDSN) created by GIEPA in December 2012 and other associate consultants are involved in this business advisory function to curb the challenges and risk of failure of enterprises particularly in the early stages of setting-up and growth. Leveraging on technology, the BDS Network with the support of the Enterprise Support team strives to match the requirements of the MSMEs with the skill set of the members and associate consultants in our database who invariably undergo constant, rigorous training, vetting and accreditation process.
