The Export Promotion and Trade Facilitation Department is mandated to spearhead efforts in enhancing The Gambia’s export competitiveness and performance in the global trading system.

The Department’s strategic direction is premised on several objectives which include the following:

  • Development of businesses and products to become export ready 
  • Development of export market for Gambian products and services
  • Facilitation of development and expansion of the supply base and development of markets for non-traditional exports from The Gambia
  • Provision of relevant trade information so as to enhance competitiveness of Gambian exporters
  • Development of programs and activities for institutional capacity building of the exporter community in order to meet the challenges of the global market
  • Development and coordination of the National Export agenda through the harmonization of export related activities by private and public sector agencies and other development partners
