Business Development Services (BDS)

Business Development Services (BDS) refer to a wide range of non-financial services used by entrepreneurs to help them improve the performance of their businesses, access to markets, and ability to compete.

The following Business Development Services are provided:

Coaching:

Business Coaching is a handholding service offered as a follow up activity after successful completion of the EMPRETEC Training Workshop (ETW), where a coach is attached to a businessc for a period of 6 months. The coach provides support to the business and helps them in areas such as record keeping, business registration and formalization, financial management etc.

Business Advisory Service:

Offered to aspiring entrepreneurs that come to the office for one-to-one advisory. We provide professional help and support to individual with ideas and need to develop it into viable businesses.

B2B/B2C Forums:

Forums where businesses are brought together to create market linkages with businesses and/or consumers in priority sectors.

Access to Finance Coaching:

We facilitate access to finance coaching to assist MSMEs that are in business and meet all relevant requirements. This is done in partnership with other international organizations, donor funded projects etc. in efforts to bridge the financing gap that entrepreneurs face through mini loan schemes and grants.

Monitoring and Evaluation Services:

After every BDS cycle, a team is set up to conduct monitoring and evaluation activities to review the business development services rendered. This helps GIEPA to know the impact the BDS has on each business and allows GIEPA to collect relevant information that can be used to inform policy decisions and advocacy efforts.

Formalization & Access to Markets Facilitation Services:

Such services facilitate business formalization (registration, TIN, corporate account development, etc.) and access to market. The access to market initiative is done through creating market linkages for businesses with consumers. Businesses that have export potential are also connected with the export department for additional training on export readiness.
