The Gambia is serving as both host nation and chair of the African Caucus 2026, convening African Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, and international development partners to advance strategies for the continent’s economic transformation. The meeting is held under the theme “Transforming Africa’s Economies Through Investment, Innovation, and Inclusion.”

As host, The Gambia is leading high-level dialogue on economic resilience, investment, regional trade, infrastructure financing, and inclusive growth. The event also provides a platform to showcase the country’s investment potential and strengthen its position as an emerging destination for business and international partnerships.

Chairing the 2026 African Caucus: Gambian Finance Minister Hon. Seedy K.M. Keita chairs the 2026 African Caucus, guiding discussions and coordinating the collective voice of African member countries.

Strengthening Africa’s voice: By hosting the Caucus, The Gambia supports a common African position in discussions with institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, helping ensure African priorities are clearly communicated.

Private sector engagement is supported by the Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GIEPA), in partnership with the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MOTIE). Together, they have enabled the participation of 30 Gambian businesses, giving local enterprises opportunities to connect with investors, policymakers, development partners, and business leaders across Africa. The initiative promotes Gambian products and services, attracts investment, and opens new pathways for trade and export growth.

Through this collaboration, The Gambia is extending the benefits of hosting the African Caucus beyond government-level dialogue to include the private sector. This helps local businesses gain exposure to continental markets and investment opportunities while reinforcing the country’s commitment to entrepreneurship, export expansion, and sustainable economic development.

By combining policy dialogue with private sector participation, The Gambia is positioning itself as both a successful host of the African Caucus 2026 and an active contributor to Africa’s wider economic transformation agenda.
