The Gambia-Pakistan Trade and Investment Forum

A delegation of Eight Pakistani Business leaders and investors visited the Smiling Coast as part of an Economic, Trade, and Investment Forum held at Kombo Beach Hotel on 28th May 2025. The event explored mutually beneficial opportunities in all the key sectors such as agriculture, textile, housing and real estate development, manufacturing, renewable energy, information technology construction, infrastructure, vehicle exports and trade services.
The day's engagement was organized by the Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GiEPA) in collaboration with its parent ministry, the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment and the Pakistani Embassy in Dakar through their Gambian Chancery in Banjul.
The forum is part of the Agency's quest to facilitating FDIs for improved macro-economic stability through job creation and boosting industrialization which remains a consonant in the GiEPA 2023 – 2027 Strategy Plan. Key discussed areas under this plan focused on promoting domestic investments in critical areas like light Manufacturing for clothing & textile, food & beverages, metal & metallic works, wood & leather, processing, and chemicals used in soap and plastic making.
The forum also facilitated collaboration amongst both Gambian and Pakistani businesses creating greater opportunities for growth, development and partnerships.
The event witnessed several presentations done by GiEPA CEO - Ousainou Senghore as well as presentations made by all the visiting Pakistani businesses who were later facilitated to held B2B with their Gambian counterparts and B2G meeting.
